What is albert?

albert exists to support the UK production and broadcast industry’s transition to environmental sustainability, working in collaboration to accelerate the adoption of best practice.

albert is the leading UK environmental sustainability initiative for the visual-arts. The project aims to educate and provide industry colleagues with the necessary expertise and opportunities to

  • reduce the environmental impact of the production process
  • create opportunities for audiences to engage with the climate agenda

The goal of albert is to create ‘sustainable productions’, defined as those which have a positive impact on the people and places involved in its creation. It strikes for a continual reduction in carbon emissions and waste production, with a goal of zero emissions and waste. It share its values with every aspect of the supply chain, including cast, crew, outside contractors/suppliers and its audience.
