The BBC’s Countryfile 25th Anniversary Country Fayre, which transmitted in July 2013, was powered by generators running on waste vegetable oil. It makes good environmental and economic sense ensure resources are used to their maximum potential, and in this case helped Countryfile reduce their carbon emissions.

Waste vegetable can be a little more expensive than diesel, though costs are broadly comparable.
