We’re Ecotricity – and we’re not like other energy companies. As well as being a supplier of 100% renewable electricity and carbon neutralised gas for homes and businesses across the UK, we are committed to ending the use of fossil fuels by investing in various forms of renewable energy.
To achieve this, we are not-for-dividend, meaning we use any excess profits from our bills to build new sources of green energy – we call it, ‘bills into mills’.
Since becoming the world’s first green energy company when we were founded by Dale Vince OBE in 1995, we have been pioneering ways to eliminate fossil fuels across the UK.
In film and TV, we have spearheaded outdoor broadcast solutions like plug-and-play feeder pillars and our Grid Faeries batteries. We have also collaborated with BAFTA albert on the Creative Energy Scheme, bringing affordable, deep green energy to the whole sector.

Ecologi is the UK’s most trusted climate action platform. Our mission is to inspire and empower businesses to accelerate global climate action through carbon measurement and reduction and funding high-quality, high-integrity climate solutions including reforestation, habitat restoration, carbon avoidance and removal projects around the world. We work with over 24,000 businesses including Co-op, O2, BAFTA Albert, ITV, Ubisoft, Oracle, Capgemini, Mulberry and 300+ B Corps. Our community has collectively funded the planting of over 87m trees, the avoidance of 3.4m verified tonnes of CO2e, the restoration of over 31,000m2 of wildlife habitats in the UK, and the removal of over 11,000 tonnes of CO2.

Investors in the Environment (iiE)
Investors in the Environment (iiE) is a national not-for-profit environmental accreditation scheme designed to help organisations reduce their impact on the planet. With a clear, structured framework and expert support, iiE makes sustainability achievable for businesses of all sizes and sectors. Members progress through Bronze, Silver, and Green levels, working towards continual improvement in areas like net zero, energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable transport, and biodiversity.
At its core, iiE is about empowering organisations to make meaningful change—offering the tools, guidance, and recognition needed to embed sustainability into day-to-day operations. Accredited members benefit from increased credibility, cost savings, and the opportunity to lead by example.
