Sustainable Production 

Partners whose expertise, innovations and insights can be used to help productions reduce their emissions and protect the environment. 

Sunbelt Rentals

Sunbelt Rentals is a global equipment rental provider for the film and TV industry, providing an extensive inventory including battery and hybrid power solutions that can be used on set.

albert and Sunbelt Rentals have been working to bring together the supply chain and production industry to create a holistic approach to decarbonising the production process. In addition to supporting events, Sunbelt Rentals provides expertise and support for albert as it looks to supercharge the change needed to reach net zero by 2050.

Ecologi

Ecologi is the UK’s most trusted climate action platform  that aims to inspire and empower businesses to accelerate global climate action by funding high-impact climate solutions such as reforestation, carbon avoidance and removals projects, and nature based restoration whilst they decarbonise on their net zero journey.

Ecologi is albert’s Creative Offsets partner, working with production companies across the UK to compensate for unavoidable emissions created during production. Together, we have helped production companies avoid 155,000 tonnes of CO2e. and funded the planting of over 175,000 trees.

Ecotricity

Ecotricity is Britain’s greenest energy company. All its electricity is certified green, and vegan. The gas it supplies is a mix of carbon-neutralised natural gas and sustainable green gas. What makes Ecotricity different is it takes profits, and it invests that money into building new forms of green energy.

Ecotricity is albert’s Creative Energy Scheme supplier. Creative Energy is pre-negotiated access to the cleanest, greenest, planet-protecting business electricity tariff on offer.

We work with these organisations to inspire engagement, build capability and share knowledge throughout the industry and supply chain.

The British Film Institute (BFI)

The BFI is the UK’s lead organisation for film and the moving image, a cultural charity, and a National Lottery distributor.

In the drive to reach net zero, the film industry has a great opportunity to reduce its impact and play its part in tackling climate emergency. Through the BFI National Lottery Sustainable Screen Fund, BAFTA albert is helping the industry to take action. albert’s work with the BFI centres around culture and capability, including the introduction of specialist sustainability training free to anyone within the industry.

The Carbon Literacy Project

The Carbon Literacy Project works to empower people and organisations from all sectors and walks of life to further understanding and action on climate change.
BAFTA albert has partnered with The Carbon Literacy Project to offer the accredited Sustainability Champion Course as part of the albert Academy. The course is for people working in the screen industries, empowering them with deeper knowledge to champion meaningful change within their organisations.

Standards, Measurement & Reporting

This group of experts provide help measuring progress and supporting on progress through reporting, helping albert evolve new measures and tools.

Arup

Arup is a sustainable development consultancy who work with experts across industries to develop solutions that help organisations take action to reduce carbon emissions, restore nature and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Together with Arup, albert launched the Studio Sustainability Standard in 2022. The standard uses data analysis and expertise to provide studios with individual development plans that they can follow to become more sustainable. Studios are assessed on a bi-annual basis and awarded a rating based on their environmental impact.

Partners who empower effective climate storytelling on screen across all genres; inspiring public engagement to accelerate net zero transition.

SIGN/The University of York

The Screen Industries Growth Network is an initiative led by the University of York to promote the growth of the screen industries in Yorkshire and Humber.

In 2023 albert collaborated with SIGN and the University of York to research the impact of climate content on audience behaviour. The research looked at how programme makers can make content that audiences will engage with and how do we create programming that has a long-lasting impact on public behaviour.
