VMI has made significant progress in sustainability, achieving Carbon Neutral status in 2022 and committing to net zero by 2030. 55kW solar panels, 100% renewable energy, and operates as a nil-waste organisation. 75% of its vehicles are EV/hybrid, VMI also promotes low-carbon commuting and remote working. By 2023, emissions halved from 2019 levels, 2-years ahead of schedule. Annual emissions are offset through Albert-certified projects earning VMI the Hero of Net Zero award at COP26 in 2021.
