We’re pleased to welcome Get Set Hire as a new BAFTA albert supporter, joining our collective mission to make the screen industries more sustainable. Having featured in our Suppliers Directory and participated in albert initiatives over the years, this new supporter status marks the next step in formalising a relationship built on shared values and ongoing collaboration.
Get Set Hire is a specialist hire company supplying location and production equipment to productions across the UK. From Motorola radios to rain tents, from costume and makeup packages to battery power solutions, from heaters to sofas, right down to director’s chairs and water coolers, they provide everything crews need behind the scenes. They work in an agile, flexible way to help you meet tight deadlines. They also help film and TV productions reduce their carbon emissions through the equipment they supply and the way they deliver it.
James Bridgford, Managing Director at Get Set Hire, said: “Sustainability is part of our DNA. It’s not a bolt-on or an afterthought.” And Bryony Harrison-Miller, Head of Sustainability said, “Partnering with BAFTA albert goes hand in hand with our commitment to help make a decarbonised film industry a reality.”
They have implemented clean energy innovations such as the Wattman and HVO generators, alongside a fully electric and certified waste HVO delivery fleet. These steps have significantly reduced the environmental impact of their logistics, cutting fleet emissions by over 80%.
On set, they offer a wide range of sustainable alternatives to industry standard materials. These include battery power solutions charged with renewable energy, reusable and recyclable floor protection in place of corex, recycling waste collection solutions and refillable water coolers which have saved over one million single-use plastic bottles from waste.
Beyond their main operations, Get Set Hire supports reforestation and marine conservation projects, including Sussex Bay and JUST ONE Tree, and continues to plant trees for every customer survey completed.
BAFTA albert, Managing Director, Matt Scarff, said: “We’re excited to be working with Get Set Hire – a company that shares our values and implements innovation that has a positive impact on our planet. Collaboration is so important for albert. If we want to meet the industry’s environmental goals, we need to be working together as an industry.”
James Bridgford added: “We’re grateful for the work and everything that BAFTA albert does to lead the charge, and we’re proud to be part of an industry that’s moving together toward more sustainable production.”
We’re proud to have them on board and look forward to working together to support the industry’s transition to a more sustainable future. Find out more about Get Set Hire’s sustainability work here.
