Climate Content

Great storytelling doesn’t just entertain, it inspires action. From Mr. Bates Vs. The Post Office exposing injustice to Succession causing an uptick in people naming Greenpeace in their wills, the stories we tell on screen can shape public opinion, influence policy, and drive real change.

The climate crisis is the defining story of our time, and the screen industries have a vital role to play in helping audiences understand what’s at stake, and what can be done.

The Climate Content Pledge

Broadcasters and streamers signed the Climate Content Pledge at COP 26 in November 2021, committing to using their content* to help audiences understand what tackling climate change might mean for them, as well as inspire and inform sustainable choices.

*For the purposes of this pledge, “content” is all programming with the exception of news.
