BAFTA albert launches Suppliers Directory

BAFTA albert launches Suppliers Directory to connect productions with sustainable solutions.

Today BAFTA albert, the leading authority on environmental sustainability in the screen industries launched a new suppliers directory.

The directory is designed to support the rapid decarbonisation our industry needs by bringing together production teams and broadcasters with suppliers. Each supplier is independently vetted, against industry sustainability backed criteria.

Suppliers featured on the directory are judged against unique, industry specific criteria, for example caterers must demonstrate a clear understanding of their food supply chain, prioritising local, seasonal, and organic produce. While green companies must have policies in place to manage non-native, imported and invasive species.

All suppliers are also expected to commit transparent data sharing, such as fuel usage metrics, allowing productions to accurately track and report their sustainability efforts.

Users of the directory can expect an easy to navigate online platform that allows them to search by what matters most. Whether that be local material usage, location or zero waste solutions. The directory is also free at point of use for users, allowing them to build relationships with the suppliers directly.

The directory can be accessed here

Speaking about the new directory, Matt Scarff, Managing Director, BAFTA albert said:

“The production industry supply chain is diverse and complex. It can be challenging for productions to know what to look for and trust when making choices about sustainable partners. The new BAFTA albert Suppliers Directory takes away some of that stress and bridges the gap between the production industry and those in the supply chain who are providing solutions that will decarbonise productions.”

BAFTA albert’s ambition is to continue to grow the directory over the coming months, signing up even more suppliers across the UK to offer productions an in-depth resource.

The next supplier intake will begin immediately with a small administration fee attached to ensure the smooth running of the directory and allow for the external vetting of all applicants.

For suppliers interested in joining the directory applications are available here and more information about the vetting criteria is available here
